Gathering.

Gather ’round.

Consider this an invitation.

Gathering is where we share opportunities to visit Providence Lane Homestead — to walk the land, meet the animals, and see the work as it’s being done. If Living is the foundation and Tending is the house, Gathering is our kitchen — think warmth, community and sharing. Some gatherings are annual and public, like our spring shearing day or Open Farm Days in August. Others are smaller and more informal: visits with community groups, homeschoolers, fibre folks, families, or people who are simply curious and keen to learn.

This is a working farm, not a petting zoo. Animals here have jobs, routines, and needs, and visitors are guests in their space as much as mine. Because of that, there are a few expectations that help keep everyone — human and animal — safe and well. We ask that visitors arrive wearing boots that can go through an antiseptic foot bath, and that you follow any posted or spoken instructions once you’re here. Outside of Open Farm Days, there are no public washrooms available. These aren’t meant to be barriers — they’re part of caring for a place that’s alive and in use.

If you’re interested in a private or small-group visit, I’m always happy to talk it through. Those visits work best when they’re shaped to the people coming and the season we’re in, so reach out and let’s imagine what it might look like together. And if you’re joining us for Open Farm Days, you’ll find clear signage when you arrive — just follow the lane and the signs, and we’ll take it from there.

Whether you’re here to learn, to observe, or simply to spend some time in a working landscape, you’re welcome — with curiosity, care, and respect for the rhythms of the place.
