Have you ever wondered if our certification was more than just paperwork? Here’s your chance to find out.

What actually happens during an Animal Welfare Approved audit? Maybe you’ve thought about getting certified yourself but not knowing what was involved has been holding you back. . .
Or maybe you’re a certification skeptic — you’ve seen too many “good on paper” certifications that couldn’t hold up to bright light and a hard look.
If you see yourself in either camp, I’d love to give you a chance to ask those questions and — hopefully get some answers.
“Audit” Is Such A Scary Word . . .
On July 8, we’re opening our gates and inviting you to join us for our annual certified Animal Welfare Approved audit with A Greener World. You’ll have a chance to speak to our auditor, Anton and to follow along as he puts us through our paces.
This is a real audit — the same one we undergo every year. We’ll be reviewing records, discussing management practices, walking through our facilities and talking about what animal welfare means in practice, not just in principle.
Questions are welcome! I know I’ll have some.
No Secrets, No Worries
Why are we doing this? Honestly, because we hope that by demystifing the process, more people will take the AWA leap, just like we did.
We’re doing it because Alberta has recently changed its Animal Welfare laws and going through the certification process puts any livestock steward so far out ahead of the standard you will literally never have to worry about compliance. If you’re passionate about animal welfare, this certification is worth a look.
We’re doing this because transparency matters to us. I want you to be part of the community, part of the conversation. If you know what I know, neither of us has any reason to wonder where we stand. We can move forward with confidence together.
And finally, we’re inviting you to be part of the audit because we believe consumers deserve to know what certifications and labels mean — and what they don’t.
If you’ve ever wondered what happens behind the scenes, if you’ve been curious about certification, or if you’re simply skeptical and want to see the process with your own eyes, we’d love to have you.
